Windy Ride on the Way to Canada

posted in: adventure, fitness | 0

June 13, 2024 Headwinds were brutal and I encountered some heavy rain. 36.5 miles, but it seemed like a lot more. Canada and the Angle Inlet tomorrow.

Road and trees…

A freight train broke up the monotonous scenery.

Stormy looking skies

Storms ahead of me too.

It’s 2:30 am and I can’t sleep. The original plan was to ride into Canada and into the Northwest Angle of Minnesota today, but I’m afraid I’m going to have to abandon those plans. It seems I’ve developed tendinitis on my left Achilles tendon. There is now a red, swollen lump on the Achilles tendon just above the heel. The trip into Canada and the Northwest Angle would be two 65 mile days in a row and I don’t think that’s a wise thing to do right now. I really don’t want to risk permanent damage or the prospect of surgery. I think this might be a serious issue but I’m not sure.

Stay tuned for updates!
