June 12, 2024: Almost 68 miles today from International Falls, Minnesota to Baudette, Minnesota. A light rain much of the morning, but fair skies by afternoon. Check out the captions for more info on today’s ride.
7:00 am. The bike is packed up and I’m ready to leave International Falls, Minnesota.
This was the scenery most of the day; a long ribbon of road and trees all around.
On the opposite bank of the Rainy River is Canada.
I was surprised to see a herd of cows.
A few cultivated fields.
A shelter in the hamlet of Birchdale was the perfect lunch stop.
More road, more trees.
The rapids were very impressive.
Some type of pelican birds were perched on the rocks.
Made it to Baudette, Minnesota.
If the sign is right, I’m real close to Canada. The plan is to ride into Canada on Friday.
